Rebuilding Homes. Restoring Hope. Navigating Insurance with You.

At Stiller Builders, we understand that wildfire destruction is more than just property loss—it’s deeply personal. Though we are not originally from Los Angeles, we called it home for over a decade, and we’ve experienced the devastation of fire ourselves. We’ve lost a personal residence, a business, and an apartment complex. The emotions that follow are overwhelming, and words often fall short.
This gives us a unique level of empathy and hands-on experience in fire rebuilding and insurance negotiations. For over 2 decades, we’ve worked directly with insurance companies to recover, rebuild, and move forward. We know the process is stressful and complex, and we’re here to simplify it. Your focus should be on healing, your family, and rebuilding your life, not red tape. We’ll take on the burden of navigating city liens, permitting, and post-disaster bureaucracy so you don’t have to.

Building Smarter. Building Safer.

We understand the importance of protecting your home and family from the growing threat of wildfires. That’s why we offer a range of fire-resistant design and construction options for new builds. While no home can ever be fully ‘fire-proof’, we’ve done extensive research in fire-resistant construction techniques to give your new home the best possible chance of survival should another wildfire occur.

You may have noticed that not all homes burned in the recent fires. In many cases, those that remained standing were built using resilient methods and smart design choices.

Depending on your budget, we can incorporate materials and features that greatly reduce the chance of damage from flames, heat, and wind-driven embers. By carefully selecting finishes and planning your landscape, we can create a home that is beautiful, efficient, and more resilient.

We are happy to walk you through what’s possible to make your home as fire-resistant as possible.

Built-In Protection

  • Fire-rated roofing such as metal, tile, or Class A shingles

  • Non-combustible siding options, including stucco, brick, or fiber cement

  • Tempered, double-pane windows that resist breaking under extreme heat

  • Sealed vents and solid doors to keep out embers

  • Attic and crawlspace vents covered with fine metal mesh to block flying embers

  • Durable decks and fencing designed to withstand fire exposure

Defensible Space by Design

  • A non-combustible buffer zone of stone, gravel, or concrete around the home’s foundation

  • Thoughtful landscaping with fire-resistant plants, spaced for safety and maintained for health

  • Cleared and elevated trees to keep branches away from the roofline

  • Yard design that minimizes fuel for fires and enhances long-term safety

Added Peace of Mind

  • Options for exterior sprinklers and independent water sources

  • Fire-retardant coatings for exposed wood features

  • Driveways and access points designed for emergency response vehicles

Why This Matters

Wildfires are unpredictable, but your home doesn’t have to be vulnerable. By combining modern building science with budget-conscious safety upgrades, we can help you create a home that is not only beautiful and energy-efficient but also built with resilience in mind.

When you choose Stiller Builders, you’re choosing a partner who builds with the future in mind.

More Than Construction — A Commitment to Community

We’re not just builders—we’re people who care deeply about helping families move forward. We have worked directly with non-profits like The Salvation Army, helping hurricane victims rebuild their homes and lives. Our efforts were honored with their prestigious 'Giving Award.'

We would be honored to work alongside any non-profit organization helping fire victims rebuild, using our dedication, experience, and compassion to help turn the impossible into possible.

Pricing Designed to Help You Rebuild

To make rebuilding affordable, we offer our services at a 13% fee based on hard construction costs when you work with us directly. Our standard fee typically ranges from 15% to 20%, depending on project complexity, scope, and other variables. This reduced rate reflects our deep desire to support wildfire survivors and help them rebuild with dignity and peace of mind. Please note: This discounted rate on our fees applies to new fire rebuilds that are traditional stick-framed homes (also known as conventional wood-frame homes), not to component, pre-fab, modular, panelized, or other alternative construction types. We’re happy to assist with those as well, but pricing will be evaluated individually based on the unique scope and complexity.  Fire damage/restoration projects will be priced individually based on each situation. All projects and pricing structures are subject to change at the discretion of Stiller Builders, Inc.

We also offer a 2% referral reward—if we are your contractor for the build and you refer a friend or family member who signs a contract with us, you’ll receive 2% of the referred project’s construction cost. This helps us expand our mission through your trust and provides a meaningful way for you to potentially offset the cost of your rebuild.
